Yang is a doctoral student in sociology at Mason. He earned his Master's degree in Sociology from The New School for Social Research.
In his master's thesis, he researched on social objects, namely public toilets, in the context of urban environment, in an attempt to describe large changes in culture and cities. Currently, he is interested in understanding the interrelation between urban transition and different ethnic groups, as well as community-based research.
