Major: BA in sociology

Plans after graduation: Abdelrahim Minalla plans to look for a job in education but eventually wants to pursue her PhD in sociology.  

Most impactful class: Sociology of Human Rights taught by John Dale. “I changed my major from computer science and this class showed me that I had picked the right major for me. The professor became an important person in my undergraduate as I took two more classes with him and was part of Next System Fellows.” 

Leaving an impression

Through the Next System Fellows program in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Abdelrahim Minalla was involved in Next System Studies, which is led by Assistant Professor Ben Manski. “It was special because it was part of the fellowship, and we got to learn so much about the current system and what a new system would look like,” she said. “I got to meet so many great peers and work with amazing professors. It truly was an honor.”
