Alyssa is a PhD student in Sociology and a Graduate Professional Assistant for the Honors College at George Mason University. As a graduate assistant, Alyssa teaches undergraduate courses and assists Honors College faculty and staff with data collection, assessment, and implementation and analysis to support Honors College programs and initiatives. Additionally, she leads a research team of multi-disciplinary undergraduate and graduate students in the Social Science Research Lab.
Alyssa's current research interests include examining social and systemic inequalities and exploring alternative frameworks focused on social and economic justice. In addition to her role as a graduate assistant, she has recently worked on research projects with faculty and fellow PhD students related to gender perceptions and occupational outcomes, community resistance to data center and technology developments, and labor movements and their role in the protection of democracy.
