Sociology: Social movements, knowledge production, colonialism, anti-colonial struggles, ideologies, the Kurdish movements, and the Middle East
Omer Pacal is a PhD student in Sociology at George Mason University. His research interest focuses on Kurdish political movements in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. He is interested in understanding the ways in which ideologies shape and mobilize the social and political movements in the context of the Middle East, particularly the political movements of peoples without states, such as the Kurds and the Palestinians.
