SOCI 213: Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences
SOCI 213-DL1: Stat for Behavioral Sci
(Fall 2025)
Online
Section Information for Fall 2025
In today’s data-driven world, statistics shape the stories we hear in the news, politics, and social media—and influence the decisions that affect our everyday lives. This self-paced, fully online course gives you the tools to make sense of it all. Designed for undergraduates in the social and behavioral sciences, it introduces you to the power (and pitfalls) of statistical reasoning through real-world examples and hands-on practice.
You’ll learn how to choose the right statistical techniques, analyze data using SPSS (a skill employers love), and interpret what the numbers really mean. The focus is less on heavy math and more on developing your ability to question data, evaluate research claims, and make informed, ethical decisions as a student, professional, and member of your community. No math degree required—just a curious mind and a willingness to ask, “What’s really going on with these numbers?”
SOCI 213 DL1 is an online asynchronous section.
