With today’s technology, immigrants are more connected than ever to the cultures of their homeland. In Transnational Communities in the Smartphone Age: The Korean Community in the Nation's Capital, George Mason professor Dae Young Kim examines how Korean immigrants in the D.C. and Baltimore areas have used technology to build and maintain regular connections with the culture of their homeland, seeking to learn whether these cultural transnational links make for more lasting connections.
