ASA President-Elect speaks on Hooking Up

The SOAN Department's sociologists make their annual trek to ASA Headquarters for the ASA President-Elect's address and festivities, hosted by the DC Sociological Society. This year, the DC Sociological Society hosts the ASA President-Elect, Dr. Paula England, Professor of Sociology at New York University, who will give a talk titled “Hooking Up and Romantic Relationships in College Today.”

Her talk will provide an overview of relationships and sexuality among college students at 4-year universities and colleges in the U.S. based on a large online survey. The meaning of “hook-ups” are discussed, with an emphasis on the role of gender in these interactions. 

The reception starts at 6:30pm and Dr. England's address begins at 7pm. Join us!
