The Department of Anthropology and Sociology will be hosting a guest lecture given by Dr. Deetz. The title of her talk is: "Cookin' for the Big House: Liminality, Space, and Place of Virginia's Enslaved Cooks." Her talk will take place Monday, Nov. 7, at 10 am, in the Paul Robeson Room, Johnson Center Rm. 240A. Dr. Kelley Deetz is currently the Ainsworth Visiting Professor in the American Culture Program at Randolph College. Dr. Deetz holds a Ph.D. in African Diaspora Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
