Join the George Mason Iranian Studies Group (ISG) for a lunchtime discussion of the protest movement triggered by the disputed 2009 Iranian Presidential elections. Sociology PhD student and ISG Secretary Sahar Haghighat will be discussing her research on the use of social media and mobile devices by the movement to organize and relay information—a topic that is at the forefront of the uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa.
