Visiting Assistant Professor in SOAN Matthew C. Watson will give a presentation: "Reading the Way: Public Science and Hieroglyphic Knowledge Production." A visiting assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Matthew C. Watson is a Latin Americanist anthropologist and science and technology studies (STS) scholar. He holds a B.A. in anthropology and Spanish from Grinnell College (2003) and a Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Florida (2010). His current book project examines the decipherment of Maya hieroglyphs as an expression of collaborative public science.
