Examines the ways in which the various subfields of anthropology engage with the wider world. Each of the primary subfields (cultural anthropology, biological anthropology, and archaeology) incorporates a distinct body of method and theory. Here, we emphasize the ways in which anthropologists integrate different kinds of knowledge and balance alternative ways of assessing meaning and relevance. Topics include globalization, ethics, museums, anthropological contributions to public policy, the environment and migration. Offered by Sociology & Anthropology. Limited to three attempts.
