Public Sociology Graduate Conference THIS SATURDAY 10/12

Join us for our conference, which explores inequality and mobility along the borderlands of academia, activism, and policy. This weekend, our program's graduate students host the third annual Public Sociology Graduate Conference at Founders Hall on the GMU-Arlington Campus.  Presentations from graduate students in sociology from a variety of schools will be featured, as well as a keynote from Derek Hyra (Virginia Tech).  Derek Hyra's research focuses on inner city economic development, with an emphasis on globalization, national housing policy, urban politics, affordable housing finance, neighborhood poverty, and race. The conference will take place Saturday, October 12, 2013, 8:30am to 4:00pm.
