Jacobs Named Williams Lecturer

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology is delighted and honored to announce that Professor Mark Jacobs, sociology, has been named the 2010-2011 Williams Lecturer by the Eastern Sociology Society.

The Williams Lecturer program was initiated in 1992 as part of the Society’s attempt to enhance the sharing of ideas and is announced each year at the Eastern Sociology Society's annual meeting.  It is awarded to a leading scholar selected by a committee of scholars. As part of the lectureship, Dr. Jacobs will present two campus lectures at universities selected through a competition among  those seeking to bring the Williams Lecturer to their campus.

The title of Dr. Jacob’s lecture is: No Fault Corruption of the Financial System
