John Robinson honored as 2025 CHSS distinguished alumni in sociology and anthropology

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor John Robinson, MA Sociology '10, with the Distinguished Alumni Award in sociology and anthropology.

Robinson is an assistant professor of sociology, associated faculty in African American Studies, and the Richard Allen Lester University Preceptor at Princeton University. 

His research explores the intersections of urban sociology, economic sociology, political sociology, and the sociology of race and racism, and focuses on housing, finance, and governance.

Robinson’s leadership extends nationally through his roles with the race and capitalism project at the University of Chicago, Progressive International’s Debt Justice Working Group, and the Poverty and Race Research Action Council.
