Three Sociology PhD students have been selected to present their work at the Arab Graduate Students Conference to be held in March in Doha, Qatar. The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies is hosting the conference for Arab doctoral students in the social sciences and humanities based at Western universities. Rasmieyh Abdelnabi will present “Understanding Palestinian Women's Aspirations for a Homeland and Gender Equality through their Autobiographies”. Mohamed Elgohari’s paper is entitled, “From State Capture to Society Capture: How Egypt’s Military Consolidated its Power in the Post-Revolution Era”. Mohamed Mohamed will present “Hijacking Religion: The Re-Nationalization of Religious Discourse in Contemporary Post-Coup Egypt”.
