A minor in sociology provides a disciplined and systematic way to study issues of justice, equality, freedom, and identity. A sociology minor is considered excellent preparation for a variety of careers and an excellent foundation for law school or higher education.
Degree Requirements (Catalog Year 2013-2014)
In addition to meeting the following requirements, students must meet the university requirements for all minors.
Two required courses (6 credits)
Students must complete each of these courses with a minimum grade of 2.00.
SOCI 101 - Introductory Sociology Credits: 3
SOCI 311 - Classical Sociological Theory Credits: 3
Four elective courses (12 credits)
Students may focus the coursework for their minor by choosing electives from one of the five concentrations offered as part of the BA in sociology.
