Minor in Sociology

A minor in sociology provides a disciplined and systematic way to study issues of justice, equality, freedom, and identity. A sociology minor is considered excellent preparation for a variety of careers, including human resource management, industrial relations, juvenile and criminal justice, communications, marketing, social services, teaching, government, health services, public policy, international affairs, and management of nonprofit organizations. Sociology also provides an excellent foundation for law school and careers in higher education. Many employers appreciate sociology students' ability to understand the role of social factors in different settings, as well as their strong skills in research methods and statistics.
