Sociology: Sociology of work, precarious work, feminist research methods, social theory, neoliberalism, democratically owned and operated workplaces

Gergana N. Hardy is an MA sociology student at George Mason University. She served as a graduate research assistant at the College of Health and Human Services from May 2022 to March 2023, working on qualitative research on memory decline in older adults. Her research interests include sociology of work, precarious work, feminist research methods and social theory. 

Gergana completed her BA in sociology with a minor in philosophy at George Mason University in December 2021, as part of the Accelerated MA pathway, with a GPA of 3.96. She completed an independent two semester study as part of the Honors program, under the supervision of Manjusha Nair PhD, focusing on the precarious work of Latin dance instructors in the DMV (DC, MD, VA) area. 

In April 2022, Gergana co-chaired the Sociology Expo with fellow MA student Nathaniel Smith, which featured three panel discussions on career pathways with a BA in sociology.
