Sociology: Political Sociology, Law, Democratization, Social Movements, Middle East, Egypt.

I am currently pursuing my doctorate, PhD Candidate, in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at George Mason University, where my research is primarily centered on the legal dynamics and authoritarianism in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with a particular emphasis on Egypt. My scholarly interests encompass the sociology of law, democratization processes, state-society interactions, and the influence of social movements within the regional context. In my capacity as a doctoral candidate, I have had the opportunity to instruct courses on the complex interplay between violence and religion at George Mason University.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I hold the position of Senior Research Language Analyst at the University of Chicago's Project on Security and Threats (CPOST). My role entails the examination and analysis of propaganda disseminated by Jihadist groups, thereby contributing to the broader understanding of these organizations' intentions and strategies.
