Sociology

Jill Howard is a first year student in the Public and Applied Sociology MA program. Jill comes to George Mason with a background in sustainable, responsible business strategies. She received her BA from the University in New Hampshire in 2019 with a self-designed major in Business Administration focusing on Social Innovation and Enterprise and a minor in Women's Studies. After graduating, Jill worked for about 3 years as an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting Analyst for Ahold Delhaize - a large, international food retailer. 

Jill is interested in how supportive, welcoming and equitable community structures are formed. She hopes to use sociological research and tools to help create more public community gathering spaces that enhance social well-being.
