This course will provide students with an overall understanding of the complex dimensions of globalization and many of its consequences.
Globalization is the process of increasing political, economic, environmental, cultural, and social interconnections that is currently transforming our world. The goal of the course is to investigate the different dimensions of globalization and to critically examine some of the many ways each dimension is affecting our lives and the lives of those around the world. Students will gain critical knowledge of global patterns and processes; discover and analyze the global interconnectedness of our world; engage with, analyze and communicate diverse knowledge and ideas about global issues; and explore individual and collective responsibilities for global problems and issues.
