This course represents the lab portion of ANTH 391, Forensic Anthropology. In lab, you will be carrying your subject matter knowledge from lecture and readings and applying it to both focused group discussions and hands-on learning and problem-solving activities. In particular, following the recovery of your simulated human burial, each week’s lab meeting will progressively establish elements of your case to the point of individuating the human remains and preparing a final report on the case.

ANTH 392 201 students must also register for ANTH 391 001.

This lab class in the companion to ANTH 391. Involves hands-on lab exercises in the learning of methods in modern forensic anthropology, covering age and sex estimation from human remains, estimation of the time since death, analysis of traumatic trauma, individual identification, and archaeological recovery of buried remains. Limited to three attempts.
Recommended Prerequisite: ANTH 135.
Recommended Corequisite: ANTH 391.
