Section Information for Fall 2021
Explores how human beings across cultures have historically expressed social anxieties through references to the one particular manifestation of horror: zombies. The course looks at the cultural and historical background of zombies, incorporating cultural and medical anthropology, anthropology of religion, and cross-cultural perspectives. Students will critically analyze representation of zombies in popular media, looking at historical and current influences.
