Sara B.  Moore

 

Sara received a BS in sociology from Shepherd University (2004), an MA in sociology from The New School for Social Research (2006), and a PhD in sociology from George Mason University (2013).  She has worked on several community-based and health-related research projects at the Center for Social Science Research.  Sara has also taught several sociology courses at Shepherd University and George Mason University including Introductory Sociology; Social Problems; Marriage, Family, and Intimate Life; and Theoretical Perspectives in Women and Gender Studies.  Her research and teaching interests include family, gender, reproduction and health, and social inequality.  Sara's dissertation, "The Moral Landscape of Modern Motherhood: Ideology, Identity, and the Making of Mothers," is qualitative interview-based study that explores how women experience the transition to motherhood.
