Abby  Reiter

Abby Reiter is a sociology doctoral student at George Mason University, focusing on race, class, stratification, and urban sociology. She has collaborated on publications spanning the topics of race inequality and homophobia in the classroom, teachers’ expectations of students, and wealth inequality due to inheritance.

She is currently working on her dissertation, which examines the effects of segregation and race on social reproduction, as reflected in education outcomes. Her work uses ethnographic techniques and survey data. She also works as a sociology instructor at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC.
