Alysia Blake, 2020

Alysia Blake received her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. And her PhD in Sociology from George Mason University. Her dissertation was a mixed methods multilevel examination of police fatal force encounters in the United States.

During her time at Mason, she was a graduate research assistant at the Institute for Immigration Research (IIR). There, she worked to highlighted the impact of immigrant Nobel Prize Laureates. She also worked on projects examining the stigma that immigrants face in the United States, as well as immigrants and the arts.

Following graduation, she worked as a Statistician at the U.S. Census Bureau and now as a Statistician at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
