MA in Anthropology

Natalie Huber

I graduated this past May with a BA degree in Anthropology from Lehigh University. While there, I did a study and internship abroad program in Dublin, Ireland where I attended Trinity College Dublin during the spring semester of 2013 and worked for the National Leprechaun Museum during the following summer. I have a very strong interest in Irish and Celtic culture and within my anthropology studies, my main focus is folklore, mythology, and religion. This past summer of 2014, I was fortunate enough to intern for the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC where I helped to put on their annual Folklife Festival out on the National Mall. I also minored in theatre while at Lehigh and spent much of my free time participating in the various shows and performances that were held on campus as I have always enjoyed singing, dancing, and acting. I've also spent much time working with young children in educational day camps and I've considered doing something in the field of child or youth education somewhere down the line. I hope to return to Ireland to conduct some more research during my MA in Anthropology program, particularly on the Romani Gypsies and Irish Travellers who inhabit the country.
