By supporting the work of the Managua Municipal government in Nicaragua, we are able to use technology to help preserve and promote one of the coolest archaeological sites in Nicaragua: Acahualinca. Our relationship with the Cultural Heritage offices of Managua and of Nicaragua are made stronger through this work. The site of Acahualinca is one of the best preserved footprint sites in the world, and has the most/best preserved footprints in Latin America.  They represent one of  the best records of ancient foot-paths in the New world.  This project is a contribution to public archaeology, and in this brown bag I will describe the process of creating collaborative relationships with the municipal government, as well as the technological approach to the preservation and promotion of this site.
