Located just miles from Washington D.C., the Anthropology program at George Mason welcomes you to meet the faculty and learn more about the master’s degree program, where students may focus on sociocultural anthropology or bio-archaeology. This event will give you an opportunity to hear about faculty research, learn about M.A. requirements and courses, understand the application process, and ask any questions you may have.

OPEN HOUSE PROGRAM

4:30-5:45p      Sit in on ANTH 699: Food and Culture (Optional)

Taught by Dr. Linda Seligmann, ANTH 699 is an elective course focusing on a current issue and debate in sociocultural anthropology. Attendance is OPTIONAL. Please arrive at 4:25pm at the Department of Sociology & Anthropology Conference Room (Robinson Hall B 313) if you would like to attend part of the class.

 

6:00-7:15p      Dinner and Information Session

Attendees are invited to a catered dinner where Dr. Rashmi Sadana, the graduate director, will give an overview of the Anthropology MA program, the application process, and the requirements. This event will take place in the Room 3331 (also known as “Meeting Room 3A”) on the 3rd Floor of the SUB 1 Building. Other anthropology faculty will attend the dinner and discuss aspects of the program.

 

7:30-8:00p      Meet with Current Graduate Students in Anthropology

Attendees will have a chance to meet with a few current graduate students in the MA program in Anthropology to hear their experiences and to ask them any questions.
