This course provides the students with an overall understanding of globalization and its social, economic, cultural and environmental consequences in our world. Globalization refers to a variety of political, economic, cultural, and social changes that are currently transforming the world. Today more than ever, countries are increasingly interconnected by flows of information, trade, money, immigrants particularly feminization or gender patterned migration, technology and culture. The goal of the course is to clarify what globalization is and how it affects societies around the world.

Examines and analyzes important global issues and processes. Considers historical development of globalization and implications for different societies and cultures. Investigates perceptions of global processes by different cultures and nations, and efforts of international institutions to address social, political, economic, and cultural changes in global society. Limited to three attempts.
