Professor Haagen Klaus awarded a Wenner-Gren Research Grant

 

SOAN faculty member Haagen Klaus has been awarded a research grant from the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research for 2015.

Professor Klaus's project, entitled "The Bioarchaeology of Ventarrón: Economy, Inequality, Ethnogenesis, and the Dawn of Complex Societies in Coastal Peru (3000-650 BCE)", aims to establish the first large-scale, holistic bioarchaeological study of the dawn and evolution of Andean complex societies as seen at the monumental ritual center of Ventarrón on the north coast of Peru.
